I am reverting all the changes i have done for making matching number’s functionality. Because it is not possible for me to give you the exact reason behind the slow loading .I will have to find the reason behind the slow loading and i am doing it. It is taking time to find the reason it doesn’t mean i am not doing anything.

I will revert the changes for Matching Numbers functionality and will check the site speed.

Regarding the auto-creation of Top Categories: Yes, Jaff mentioned that Top Categories = previously Brands, but this does not mean that when an admin creates a brand, it will automatically generate a Top Category. The admin must manually create an entry for the Top Categories via the Store Design → Edit Sidebar tab (https://ibb.co/Fk22qXQ5). Not all brands will be listed directly under the Top Categories section.

As you can see, some of the older brands that were created before the Blocks feature was introduced are not listed under Top Categories. Examples include Toll Free, test3, Test 5, MYSIDEBAR, and Matching Area code/Exchange (305.305, 202.202, etc.). These are also not appearing in the Top Categories section of the sidebar. How do you justify this situation? Why are these older brands missing from the Top Categories section?

I’m asking this question because you mentioned that the auto-creation of Top Categories was working before I made changes to the code.

Regarding ticket #13708:

I checked three older backups of the code dated 26th Sep 2022, 27th Jan 2023, and 31st May 2023. In all of them, I did not find any code that automatically generates a sidebar entry (https://ibb.co/VWbf5HJS) when a brand is created from the “Add New Brand” form on the admin side (https://ibb.co/nN6Nbswx).

The only code I found related to sidebar creation is under the Store Design → Edit Sidebar tab (https://ibb.co/Fk22qXQ5). There is no direct connection between the brand creation process and the sidebar creation. Users need to manually create sidebar entries from the Edit Sidebar section.

I’m not sure why the client believes this functionality was working previously, as even the 2022 backup does not contain any such code. If there was indeed a feature to auto-generate the sidebar entry, I’d be happy to look into any issues with it. However, since there is no such code implemented, I cannot confirm that this functionality ever existed or worked.

For Page Speed :
We need to investigate the root cause of the issue and identify the scripts that are slowing down the site. This process will take some time and should be treated as a separate task or new job.

Hello Andrey,

I have fixed the issue for the new number’s sticker.

For the site speed , First of all there was same loading speed before i have started working and this is also not because of any error or hidden bugs. It is because of there is too much data and there is many other functionality work on page loading. You also know that almost everything from sidebar to data and many other menu also coming from the database that’s why it is taking time .
If you still think the loading speed was good before i have started working then i am ok to revert back my code because i have backup code before i have started working.

Hello Andrey,

I have investigated the code and also have a backup from before I started working on it. I checked both the current code and the oldest backup from September 26, 2022. There is no code in either version that links adding a brand to the popular category sidebar automatically.

If there is anything in admin’s mind that need to be done then you will have to add new task.
